Young Thug Snags His First No.1 Album on the Billboard 200 with "So Much Fun"

Young Thug can now be considered a vet in the rap music game just as much as he is a trendsetter. He is no stranger to the Billboard Top 10, but snagging the top spot on the highly regarded chart is an accomplishment many artists have or will never see. Say what you want about how he raps (or sings), dresses or sexuality - but you can't say that the man doesn't make hits.

The rapper's latest album, So Much Fun, was recieved well by peers and fans. Features include many of the hottest rappers out today such as: Gunna, Future, Lil'Baby, MGK, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Keed, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, J.Cole and more.

Hypebeast reports that "So Much Fun" had the fifth-largest debut week in 2019 following Ariana Grande (highest and third highest weeks), Billie Eilish, and Juice Wrld. It is the second-largest debut week for a hip-hop album in 2019.

Hollywood Unlocked reports that Thug's latest album earned him 131,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Aug.22. Of that sum, Nielsen Music suggests 5,000 were pure album sales with the remaining sales being streams.
