With only a few hours left until the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 21-year-old gymnast, Simone Biles, was hospitalized and unable to practice due to doctors finding a kidney stone.

"Nothing like a late night ER visit less than 24 hrs before world championships," she tweeted. "This kidney stone can wait.... doing it for my team! I'll be gucci girls."

And she meant just that! She opted to skip out on surgery to remove the stone and flew to Qatar where the championships were being held.

Biles went on to succeed tremendously. Not only was she was the event's highest ranking gymnast, but she also pushed the United States team to the number one spot. Placing highest for the beam, individual all-around, floor, and vault during the qualifying rounds, Biles secured a place in the finals.
