Apparently this situation was to be expected based on the type of contract The Mile High City NBA team and Young had agreed upon.We have waived guard Nick Young.#MileHighBasketball pic.twitter.com/yv28wxR2fK— Denver Nuggets (@nuggets) December 30, 2018
Nuggest Analyst Chris Dempsey goes into detail:We want to thank Nick for his contributions to the team and wish him the best of luck!#MileHighBasketball pic.twitter.com/j7QWhAjjFe— Denver Nuggets (@nuggets) December 30, 2018
With Paul Millsap returning from injury last night in Phoenix -- and the expected arrivals of Gary Harris and Will Barton soon -- Nick Young had to be released. He was on the roster using an injury hardship exception, which runs out when injured players return.— Chris Dempsey (@chrisadempsey) December 30, 2018
The Nuggets already have the maximum number of contracts allowed by the NBA on the roster -- 15. Plus two 2-way players. Young understood the situation and had been great while he was with the team.— Chris Dempsey (@chrisadempsey) December 30, 2018
