Michelle Obama's Memoir Sells 1.4 Million Copies it' First Week

Michelle Obama is a lot of things besides just being Former President Barack Obama's wife and a mother. To many, she is forever our first lady, a style icon and now a New York Times Best-Selling author. 


With the release of her new memoir, Becoming, Obama sold 750,000 copies on its first day and according to The Associated Press, was able to rake in more than 1.4 million copies in its first week.
Michelle Obama's Becoming has become one of the fastest-selling memoirs of 2018, released November 13.

Elle reports,
Crown Publishing revealed to The Associated Press that Becoming currently holds the No. 1 spot for adult non-fiction in Germany, France, Denmark, Holland, Spain, and more.

“We knew Becoming was going to be one of the biggest books of the year, but it has now officially had the best first week of sales of any book in 2018, and is among the fastest sellers in Barnes & Noble history,” said Liz Harwell, senior director of merchandising, trade books at Barnes & Noble.
